Repaint of payware Red Wing L-1049G Super Constellation.
This repaint shows Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) VH-EAG ‘Southern Preservation’ in its current livery. Its the only airworthy L-1049G Super Constellation (February 2024). This aircraft was built as a Lockheed L-1049F-55-96 in 1955 with C/N 4176. Delivered to the United States Air Force as 54-0157 in 1955. Came to the Mississippi Air National Guard (183 ATS, Jackson) in 1962 and to 183 MAS in 1966. Later to the West Virginia Air National Guard (167 MAS, Martinsburg) in 1967, Pennsylvania Air National Guard (193 TEWS, Middletown-Olmstead) in mid 1972. Ferried to Davis Monthan AFB for storage in June 1977. Inspected at Davis Monthan by the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, Australia in December 1991 and acquired by HARS. Based at Albion Park Regional Airport, Wollongong, N.S.W.
