This scenery is for the South Korean Army Airfield located at Pocheon ROK (RKRO, S-217).
It improves upon the vacant default airfield and adds some of the surrounding area homes and businesses.
The rendition is based upon a combination of satellite imagery and personal experience while flying from RKRO during a joint US-ROK exercise in the early 1980’s. There is a detachment of US Marine CH-46’s camped on the Eastern side of the airbase.
The Pocheon Airbase is approximately 30 miles from North Korea and 20 miles from the center of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. It would play a major role in the defense of South Korea, centered in one of the four major North to South ground assault valleys.
